Elephant Man is crazy. Whether performing solo or with the Scare Dem Crew, his stage antics are already legendary, and his records crackle with the excitement of his in-studio energy. Now, it looks like he's ready for the big time. His latest album features top guest stars like Ky-mani Marley on "Showdown" and Buju Banton on "X-Rated," and he's got a major hit with the lead-off single "Jamaica" (based on R. Kelly's "Fiesta"). Also good is Elephant's defiant "Haters Wanna War" over the Buzz riddim (by the way, there should have been a Parental Warning sticker on this album). Spragga Benz makes a notable appearance over the Rice N Peas riddim on "Warrior Cause." Ce'cile duets on the relatively smooth "Bad Gal, Bad Man" (Unstoppable riddim), and Elephant follows that with his wicked "New Application," using the same Chiney Gal riddim as Ce'cile's "Changez." There are 22 tracks in all, over some of the most popular riddims to have come out recently. Anyone interested in hardcore dancehall would be crazy not to check this out.
