Acclaimed Parisian band Herman Dune announce North American dates to coincide with their forthcoming release Next Year In Zion, out October 21 from Everloving. The band support Jolie Holland (ANTI-) on a month-long U.S. tour that begins Sunday October 12 in San Diego, CA and concludes at New York’s Highline Ballroom, Thursday, November 13. (SEE FULL LIST OF DATES BELOW.)   David-Ivar Herman Dune (vocals & guitar) and Neman Herman Dune (drums, percussions) precede their U.S. dates with a three stops in Canada, including a show on October 3 with Williamsport weirdoes, Akron/Family, at La Salla Rosa, as part of the Pop Montreal Festival.   Self-produced by the band, Next Year In Zion was recorded live to analog tape on a vintage mixing board from Abbey Road (it was once used by the Rolling Stones). The Everloving release will contain a different track listing and sequence than the UK / European version. The album will be available in all formats, including limited edition vinyl (with digital download card).   Herman Dune were recently featured on Good Morning America Weekend’s popular segment “Your Three Words,” and received praise from rising Swedish singer Basia Bulat in the September issue of Paste Magazine. Earlier this year the band played well received live sets in Austin at the SXSW music festival and New York’s Central Park Summerstage.  Frontman David-Ivar Herman Dune is an accomplished illustrator and his freehand drawings are a prominent component of each release by the band. His work has shown in galleries in New York and Paris, and can currently be seen in issues of Flaunt Magazine and Playboy (France).   Next Year In Zion is the band’s first full-length release to be widely available in the United States, but Herman Dune have quietly been bubbling under as DIY cult heroes, propelled by support from well-connected fans like the late John Peel, Everett True and Stephen Malkmus. The duo has shared the stage with The Arcade Fire, Tokyo Police Club, The Kooks and Of Montreal, and served as a backing band for good friend Kimya Dawson (Juno soundtrack, Moldy Peaches).  Earlier in 2008, Everloving released two limited edition handmade EPs from Herman Dune (I Wish That I Could See You Soon and 1-2-3 Apple Tree).   www.hermandune.com www.myspace.com/threrealhermandune   Herman Dune 2008 Tour Dates:   CANADA 10/02/08 Toronto, Ontario @ El Mocambo w/ Throw Me the Statue 10/03/08 Montreal, Quebec @ La Sala Rossa w/ Akron/Family 10/04/08 Quebec City, Quebec @ L'AgitéE   USA - All dates with Jolie Holland 10/12/08 Solana Beach, California @ Belly Up Tavern 10/13/08 Los Angeles, California @ Troubadour 10/14/08 Santa Barbara, California @ SOhO Restaurant & Music Club 10/15/08 San Francisco California @ Bimbos 365 Club 10/17/08 Portland, Oregon @ Doug Fir 10/18/08 Olympia, Washington @ Capitol Theater 10/19/08 Vancouver, British Columbia @ Richards on Richards 10/20/08 Seattle, Washington @ Triple Door 10/22/08 Salt Lake City, Utah @ Urban Lounge 10/23/08 Boulder, Colorado @ Boulder Theater 10/24/08 Lawrence, Kansas @ Jackpot Lounge 10/25/08 Minneapolis, Minnesota @ Cedar Culture Centre 10/27/08 Chicago, Illinois @ Lakeshore Theatre 10/28/08 Pontiac, Michigan @ The Pike Room at The Crofoot 10/29/08 Toronto, Ontario @ Horseshoe Tavern 10/30/08 Montreal, Quebec @ Cabaret du Musee Juste Pour Rire 10/31/08 South Burlington, Vermont @ Higher Ground 11/01/08 Boston, Massachusetts @ Museum of Fine Arts 11/03/08 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania @ Tin Angel 11/04/08 Arlington, Virginia @ IOTA 11/05/08 Ashevill
