Mobile International Festival
November 19, 2005 - November 19, 2005
Mobile Civic Center
Mobile, Nevada

Description:
The Mobile International Festival is a three-day festival of over sixty countries with the purpose of educating citizens about other cultures. The International Festival offers everyone, from school children to adults, the opportunity to know the world. Each year, festival activities are given a theme which becomes the focus of the cultural booths. Over 1,000 volunteers make the festival a feast for the senses by creating festive cultural booths displaying posters, dolls, stamps, and handmade goods from their native countries. Other festival members manage the tantalizing food booths, selling authentic dishes and beverages from more than twenty countries. Visitors can sample German pastries, Mexican quesadillas, Philippine adobo, Polish sausage, Japanese sushi, Vietnamese spring rolls, Colombian coffee, Puerto Rican empanadas and many more treats.
In addition to eye-catching displays and tasty treats, the festival boasts lively performances by dancers, clowns, singers, musicians, storytellers, and martial artists. The Mariachi serenades the crowd; Japanese drummers thrill audiences with their precision and rhythm; the Russians strum the balalaikas; and belly dancers delight visitors.
