Don't Miss Big!World!Fun!
Published June 12, 2008

The Ford Amphitheatre’s Big!World!Fun! family series “Nature Tales” opens with the vibrant sights and sounds of Viver Brasil Dance Company’s “Splash! A Celebration.” Families are invited to swim in the stream of Afro-Brazilian culture, with dancing mermaids, drumming kings and a parade of queens on July 5 at 10:00 a.m. “Splash! A Celebration” will have the audience on their feet as Viver Brasil re-creates a Brazilian carnival at the Ford including brilliantly colored costumes, rhythmically infectious dance accompanied by live percussion and an opportunity for the audience to learn carnival dance movement and join in.

The award-winning Viver Brasil Dance Company is a Los Angeles-based ensemble founded in 1997 and committed to cultivating Afro-Brazilian dance and music traditions, while extending their boundaries through community outreach, educational programs and concert dance.
