Fiesta Argentina '08 Returns To Ford Amphiteatre
Published July 11, 2008

Del Mate Productions’ 4th annual Tango extravaganza, “Fiesta Argentina 2008: Siempre Tango (Always Tango),” will feature Argentinian music and dance. Renowned dancers and choreographers Sandor & Parissa will re-ignite their passion for Tango with a dance troupe of six, accompanied by a masterful premiere performance from pianist Mario Parmisano and the Mario Parmisano Quartet, making their U.S. debut, the fiery and eloquent music of Pablo Motta’s L..A. Tango Quintet and the rich velvety baritone of singer Martin de Leon.

Sandor was a principal dancer in the Broadway/London hit show, “Forever Tango,” receiving a “Best Choreography” Tony Award nomination.  He is also the creator, director and principal dancer with Parissa, in Magique Tango Vivo! that  toured with outstanding reviews.

Fiesta Argentina: Siempre Tango offers audiences a full sensory immersion in Argentine culture: from the smoldering passion of Tango – erotic and haunting, involving both body and soul, to the smoky saloons of Buenos Aires with the plaintive yearnings of Tango torch songs, lovers caught in fervent embraces, to devastating dances with lightning fast kicks and serpentine twists.

Fiesta Argentina also will feature a tango instructor who will offer free pre-show tango lessons and dancing on the Ford’s plaza courtyard at 6:00 p.m. where there will be tables for picnicking as well as Argentine crafts. The main event will take place at 8:00 p.m.
