The International Nuits D'Afrique Festival has been combining both old and new world traditions for over two decades. Each year, the outcome of festival-goers grows more and more. Past festivals have featured performances by many talented artists from around the world.
The festival consists of several series, each focusing on a different thing. The "Grands Événements" series presents frontline artists who are already well known. Then there is the "Découvertes" series, which provides new artists with the opportunity to gain some exposure as well as "Favorites," which are artists who are regulars at the annual 11-day event.
With over 300 artists onstage, some shows will be free and others will cost anywhere from $13 to $42.
Don't miss the official opening concert this July 10th at 8pm at the Métropolis. The opening act will be performed by Syncop. This year's lineup features artists from 27 different countries, and some of the performers include Seun Anikulapo Kuti (Nigeria), Black Umfolosi (Zimbabwe), Etran Finatawa (Niger), Souleymane Diamanka (Senegal), Dobet Gnahoré (Ivory Coast), Shimita El Diego (Democratic Republic of Congo), André-Marie Tala (Cameroon), Kadan’s (Guadeloupe), Menwar (Mauritius), HAJAmadagascar (Madagascar), and more.
