Juanes' Highly-Anticipated Fourth Album, La Vida... Es Un Ratico, Will Be Released Worldwide On October 23
Published August 24, 2007

This past week, Colombian rock superstar Juanes was in Los Angeles filming a music video for “Me Enamora”- the upcoming first single from his highly anticipated fourth album La Vida... Es Un Ratico (“Life Is A Moment”). After visiting the set of the music video, The Los Angeles Times quickly shared its impression that La Vida... Es Un Ratico is an “extraordinary new album… [that] marks a significant leap forward for Juanes” and once again declared the twelve-time Latin Grammy winner as “the single most important figure of the past decade in Latin pop music.”

As a first taste of La Vida... Es Un Ratico, “Me Enamora” will be released to radio and select online/mobile outlets in 77 countries throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas on the morning of September 4th. The full album will follow in later fall, arriving worldwide on October 23rd. The follow-up to Juanes' global hit album Mi Sangre (which reached #1 in 41 countries and has sold over 4 million copies to date), La Vida... Es Un Ratico again finds the singer-songwriter/guitarist (whom TIME declared as “One of the 100 Most Influential People in the World”) working to perfect his distinctive fusion of rock and traditional Colombian rhythms, while again tackling themes of both social conscience/change and intimate personal moments of family and relationships. A large majority of the record was recorded by Juanes in his home studio in the mountains outside Medellin.

La Vida... Es Un Ratico also sees Juanes once again co-producing with double-Oscar/Grammy Winner Gustavo Santaolalla. In fact, Santaolalla was with the world’s top-selling Latin rock artist again early last week in Argentina for a special recording session that saw Juanes joined by famed Argentine rocker Andres Calamaro for a duet on "Minas piedras.” The final of the album’s fourteen tracks to be completed, “Minas piedras” continues Juanes’ leading role as a crusader against the use of anti-personnel mines and was written after the activist songwriter recently met with 35 landmine survivors and their families in Cocorná, Colombia.
