L.A. Philharmonic’s World Music Series To Conclude With Two Performances

The World Music Series with the L.A. Philharmonic, held in association L.A. radio station, KCRW, focuses on bringing diverse acts from around the world to one stage. In past months, the event has featured performances from artists like The Chieftans and Eva Ayllon.

Two performances remain: On April 27, Bollywood playback singer Asha Boshle will perform with special guest Amit Kumar. With a career that has spanned over six decades, Boshle is considered a living legend and one of the most versatile of all South Asian singers.

The final performance in the series will feature the Kronos Quartet. Accompanied by Inuit throat singer Tanya Tagaq, the two acts will present a spectacular collaboration entitled, ‘Nunavut.’ In addition, composer Derek Charke will make a world premiere. Music by Icelandic band Sigur Rós and Xploding Plastix will be celebrated.
