San Antonio Hosts The 2007 International Accordion Festival.
Published October 9, 2007

Tour the world October 12 - 14, 2007 at the International Accordion Festival. Celebrate the local sounds, regional rhythms and global grooves of the squeezebox. Join us at historic La Villita, on the beautiful Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio, Texas. Friday evening is a moonlight concert at Arneson River Theatre. All day Saturday and Sunday the festival is and fills with performances, workshops, demonstrations, clinics, jam sessions and open mics.

Held every year in the beautiful downtown Riverwalk area on the historic grounds of La Villita (3 three blocks south of the Alamo on South Alamo Street), the International Accordion Festival features performances, workshops, open mic sessions, accordion jams and a fun new area for young people and families. On three stages, enjoy ensembles from around the globe playing everything from Celtic to Creole, from Conjunto to Quebecois, from Cowboy to Klezmer, Chamame to Chicken Scratch and much, much more. More informal sessions and workshops will take place featuring up-close and personal interactions with master artists and their music. It's big, it's outdoors, it's three days. Appropriate for all ages. The festival also boasts ethnic foods, beverage and merchandise booths throughout the weekend. And best of all, Saturday and Sunday admission is free all day!
