The Chicago Cultural Center Presents 2008 Latino Music Festival

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the Chicago Cultural Center present three free concerts throughout October and November as part of the 2008 Latino Music Festival. Featured artists include the Baroque Band, Alexandre Dossin, Tito Carrillo, Guillermo Gregorio, Elbio Barilari, and more.

 

Performances take place at the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 East Washington Street. Admission is free.  For more information, please call 312.744.6630 or visit www.ChicagoCulturalCenter.org

 

Scheduled Performances:


Baroque Band – Sunday, November 2, 3 pm
The Baroque Band presents a concert of Latin American baroque music from Mexico to Brazil.  See attached release to learn more.

Pianist Alexandre DossinFriday, November 14, 6:30 pm
Brazilian pianist and scholar Alexandre Dossin performs works by Edino Krieger, Heitor Villalobos, Juan Jose Castro, Lorenzo Fernandes and Manuel Ponce.  See attached release to learn more.

Celebrating Violeta ParraMonday, November 24, 7 pm
This performance features an improvisational approach to Latin American music, blending traditional music with jazz, contemporary and electronic.  See attached release to learn more.
