Cada Dia Un Regalo

When listening to this Spanish-language disc, you would figure that the main players in this project hail from Latin America. However, one would be surprised to learn that Brian and Rosi Amador (a married couple for over two decades) actually a Massachusetts-based couple that fell in love with traditional Latin music during a trip to Nicaragua in the '80s. Their music is also jazz-inspired, as noticed on "Ojo Por Ojo," the syncopated title song that features great percussive work by Jorge Albela. Another highlight is "La Llorona," a gentle ballad that opens with a beautiful bass solo from Jorge Roeder and Rosi Amador's heartfelt vocals. With their music, the Amadors continue their personal mission of raising awareness of the needs of the impoverished populace below the border.
