Chris Nickson recently returned to England after many years living in the U.S. The author of The NPR Curious Listener's Guide to World Music, Solid Air: The Life of John Martyn and the forthcoming Nice Up the Dance: The Story of Studio One, plus many other tomes, he writes for numerous publications, broadcasts on NPR, and runs the webzine www.globalvillageidiot.net . A devotee of good tea, digestive biscuits and the dubious pleasure of Leeds United, he lives in Dronfield, just outside God's own country of Yorkshire.
